September 19, 2008 Homework: Correct and Improve Imagery
Our assignment was to photograph twenty horrible images purposely, and edit and correct them by means of color, contrast, shadows, etc in Photoshop. Here's two examples of mine.
I am an emerging photographer and graduate student of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. I am interested in the objectification of the idiosyncrasies of Western culture through parody, in fashion photography with editorial storytelling. The people within my work are portrayed in elaborately staged environments that forcibly objectify the dysfunctional beauty within twenty-first century pop culture. The photographs subject the viewer to be the voyeur of the people within the scenes. The environment is just as imperative as the person within the photograph because it symbolizes these idiosyncrasies.
