This image dumbfounded me when I first saw it. I can only think that this product is a joke, but it also says "Professional" on its covering which is very disturbing. It looks like it is an actual product, which is sad.
I am an emerging photographer and graduate student of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. I am interested in the objectification of the idiosyncrasies of Western culture through parody, in fashion photography with editorial storytelling. The people within my work are portrayed in elaborately staged environments that forcibly objectify the dysfunctional beauty within twenty-first century pop culture. The photographs subject the viewer to be the voyeur of the people within the scenes. The environment is just as imperative as the person within the photograph because it symbolizes these idiosyncrasies.
